Where do I get Funding?

Funding includes an airplane ticket to Edmonton in September and an airplane ticket home in April, tuition, text books, rent, money for food, money for expenses. Funding can come from two places:

1) If you are starting directly into a program then you can apply to SFA (Student Financial Assistance) for funding. SFA will not fund you for upgrading.

2)If you need to do some upgrading (Preparation for University and College) then you can apply to INAC for Funding. See the "How to Apply for SFA Funding" page or the "How to Apply for INAC Funding" to learn exactly how to apply.

** You will need to buy the airplane ticket with your own money and then submit the receipt to SFA or INAC to get the money back. You may also need to pay for some of the tuition with your own money and then get reimbursed.

Top Up Funding
If you are Inuvialuit you can get top up funding from the IRC. It is about $200.00 extra per month. You need to contact Sandra Elanik to apply for that. There may be a deadline so you should contact her as early as you can.

If you are Gwich'in you can get top up funding from the GTC (Gwich'in Tribal Council). It is $350.00 per month. If you are refused funding from both SFA and INAC you can apply for funding to the GTC. You need to contact Cheryl Wright at GTC to ask her for an application form.
